COVID-19 INFORMATION: Learn How We Are Keeping the Center Safe

Covid virus

Hanson Place Child Development Center (HPCDC) follows the guidance and directives from our state, local government, local health department, and Center for Disease Control (CDC). The building guidelines are adapted from the New York State Department of Health, CDC, and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). ASHRAE is an American professional association that seeks to advance the design and construction of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems. ASHRAE has more than 57,00 members in more than 132 countries worldwide (Source: Wikipedia).

Some of our policies and procedures include:

  • DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP PROCEDURE
Our routines for drop-off and pick-up include specific points of entry for all classrooms. Parents are not allowed to enter classrooms, and a mandatory Health Screening Questionnaire must be completed before arrival at the Center. Teachers will do temperature checks to ensure that your child does not have a temperature above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Children are to be dropped off at the entrance of the classrooms, and parents are not allowed in the classrooms.
  • FACE COVERINGS
All staff members and children 2 years and older will wear masks. Face coverings will be available to all staff members and children.
  • PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING
We will practice social distancing inside the classroom throughout the day. Children will not intermingle in different classrooms.
  • KEEPING THE CENTER CLEAN
The Center will be cleaned twice for the day. All frequently touched and communal areas will be cleaned and sanitized. Teachers will implement a rigorous cleaning schedule inside each classroom.
  • CENTRAL AIR IN ALL CLASSROOMS
All classrooms have central air. The air is supplied from the Air Handling Unit (AHU-a device for regulating and circulating air as part of a system for heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC)) is part of the central system, which supplies both fresh air and conditioned recirculated air in the classroom. All air supplied to the classrooms is filtered. The filters are replaced quarterly, and the coils are sanitized monthly.
